I have food stamps

Yes, somehow I have food stamps. The government is giving three months worth of food stamps to Katrina and Rita victims and hey, $152 worth of free food a month is free food. I have my little Lone Star card and everything. I haven't tried using it yet, but I'm kind of looking forward to it. I hope that cranberry juice is covered. There was a time when taking something like this would really mortify me, not because of the stigma or whatever, but because I would feel like I was taking services away from someone who really needed it. At this point, though, I've been through a lot and I pay taxes and I can't go back to New Orleans, and I'm perfectly comfortable taking anything the federal government wants to give me. The only thing that would make it better would be Karl Rove getting indicted.
