What Do All the Orcs Do?
What do all the orcs in the Lord of the Rings movies do when they are not fighting these epic battles against man? Like, I know the orcs and Uruk-Hai that fought in the Battle of Helm's Deep were created especially for that battle by Saruman, but what about the orcs in Mordor? I just watched The Return of the King, and there's that scene towards the end where Aragorn leads everyone out to the Black Gate to distract the Eye from Frodo and Sam, where it looks like literally thousands and thousands of orcs pour out and surround them. Like, there are a ton of them. What do they do the rest of the time? I can't imagine that there were many full on attacks requiring that many orcs. Do they like, take turns guarding the gate and going out on patrol? What do they do the rest of the time? Obviously not much, considering the complete lack of infrastructure inside of Mordor.

Another crappy day in Mordor. Can't sleep because the light from that eye up there keeps illuminating everything. Think I saw some midgets running around yesterday but it's probably just the crappy food over here. We need farms here people, not eerie swamps with creepy ghosts in them. 99% of this place is rock anyway, hmm where do we get food at? Eww. I think i found some hair in my soup. Yesterday I found Chucks ear, wonder where he could be these days.
