Apparently none of the descriptions in here are true anymore, except that sometimes I still worry about myself. In the past two years, I have tried to fly a kite.

OB/GYN

is so not my field. I will be absolutely thrilled if I never have to do another pelvic exam again. Next time you get your yearly pap, just remember that the person doing it might just hate being there as much as you do. Ick, ick, ick.

Oh, yeah. The other day we had to do an exam on a woman who literally weighed 400 pounds. This isn't me saying she was literally that much but its really just an exaggeration. This woman legitimately got on a scale in the office and weighed 400 pounds. Her BMI was up in the 70s. My resident did the exam himself because he was afraid that the speculum might break and he didn't think I'd have the strength to hold it open. To give her some credit, she claimed that she was sexually active and has a current partner with whom she had sex with recently, so I guess extreme obesity isn't a complete turnoff for everyone.
