Fuck Me Hard

Wow, I am like, way too into watching Voyager. I think I scared the crap out of Eduardo and Joey the other night when we were super high and I went on this huge long rant about the fabulousness of the "Year of Hell" two-part episode. Then Joey reminisced about watching the series finale of Next Gen back when it first aired and we had this huge discussion about it. I think I gave way too many details, including direct quotes. I even remembered that a big problem was the convergence of the reverse tachyon pulses.

Wow, even I didn't think I was still this big of a nerd. How is it that I can remember random shit like this, but cannot remember anything about the respiratory system?

Voyager

I've started watching reruns of Star Trek: Voyager on Spike TV, which I know is extremely dorky but whatever. I watched the first few seasons back when they originally aired, but kind of lost interest towards the end. Its cool watching them again now because I sort of remember stuff, but not really all that well. Voyager's major flaw is that it has some really good, interesting story lines (species 8472! Seska is really a Cardassian! and then she defected to the Kazon!) but in between those episodes, there are a lot of really, really dumb ones. Thank goodness for DVR, which lets me screen which episodes I watch.

Incidentally, Captain Janeway is pretty awesome as a captain. She doesn't quite have the same charm as say, Jean-Luc Picard, but when she needs to, she kicks a lot of ass.

Wow

This morning an episode of Saved by the Bell came on that I could not immediately identify in the first five minutes. This completely astounds me.

I Have Met the Future Me

This morning I went to the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry lectures. It was really fun. I got to meet the fellows. One of the fellows is from New York! She grew up in Bellmore and now lives and practices in the city. We had a lot to talk about. She mentioned that people criticized how she pronounced Tulane, which totally reminded me of when I first got down here and Kathriel and Celeste yelled at me for doing the exact same thing. In addition, this doctor was a resident graduate advisor at Columbia while she was getting her graduate degree. We shared various stories of faulty fire alarms and the 15th floor of John Jay and the 20th floor of EC and the Five Towns and Long Island hospitals. I cannot even begin to explain how fabulous this conversation was. While we were talking, I noticed that she had her books in a bag from Fishs Eddy. Seriously, it was really freaky. It was like talking to myself, except that she has high school aged kids and isn't Jewish and went to medical school 20 years ago. Oh, one of her kids goes to the Lab School, which is where Larissa and Talia went while I was babysitting for them. The only thing that was a little bit odd was when we were sitting with the other fellow and were talking about Long Island and the Five Towns and I said that the Five Towns were a special place and Moira (the future me) agreed, saying that there was no place like it (which is totally true). The other fellow asked how it was special and we both responded at the same time. I said that there were a lot of Jewish people there, which I thought was what everyone meant when they said the Five Towns was special. Moira said that there was a lot of money there. It took me completely by surprise. I chose not to mention that my dad lived in Roslyn and that I spent a few years at Nightingale.

Also, later on, after Moira left the lecture, which was on feeding disorders and failure to thrive in infants, I was talking to the lecturer and it came out that I had a masters in nutrition (I had explained how celiac disease worked) the other fellow was like, "Oh, Moira also has a masters in nutrition from Columbia." How fucking random is that?
